Oakley and Intel partnered with Mixer to engineer the technology-packed Radar Pace for extreme athletes. Our Mechanical Engineering team's primary goal was to deliver a lightweight and comfortable device that provides real-time coaching and feedback while running or biking. It also doubles as a pair of Bluetooth headphones that sound great in the wind. This development relied on our team’s experience with small electronic component packaging and ergonomic integration.
Creating products like Radar Pace requires creative give and take, hundreds of prototypes and extremely close collaboration. Working across multiple disciplines is a basic building block of Mixer’s DNA. We were the nexus of the device’s physical development team through our close coordination and effective communication with Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design and Human Factors.
