Mixer Design Group was recruited to design and engineer the Easy Button as a key component of the Staples Easy IoT ordering platform. Our Industrial Design team created a modern interpretation of this world-recognized icon while our Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams enabled the device to communicate with back-end voice recognition and ordering software. With one delightful button push, ordering Staples products with natural language became, well…easy!
Iconic Look - New Purpose
Design explorations considered the many environments where users would make verbal requests for office supplies. We also wanted to pay homage to the beloved Easy Button of yore. We explored a wide array of visual design approaches before focusing on a refined, functional and approachable look.
