Mixer delivered groundbreaking Industrial Design and a revolutionary cooling system to demonstrate the blazing speed of AMD’s Radeon graphic processors. This Virtual Reality PC showcases AMD’s brand leadership in graphics technology. Its unveiling at The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles drew excited gasps from the crowd and an avalanche of buzz.
The Project Quantum computer heralds a new era of computing with a radical new component architecture for high performance PC’s. The stacked geometric forms project a distinctive profile and illuminate the desktop with an interwoven pattern that responds to game play.
Mixer’s Industrial Designers and Mechanical Engineers based the form of the device on the unique cooling scheme that divides the computing elements from cooling elements. A manifold of copper cools the hot components with ethylene glycol and transfers heat to a cooling stack with a large quiet fan.
To further showcase the capabilities of this radically powerful new chipset, Mixer designers worked with AMD to create an experience beyond the device itself. We designed a rolling road-show demo space where people could experience the hardware all around the country.
