Axon is committed to developing video monitoring systems that enhance public safety and assure accountability. The Fleet 3 In-Car Public Safety Camera System is the ruggedized hardware feeding Axon’s evidence gathering software platform. The system provides real-time situational awareness for supervisors, advanced license-plate reading, and interior and exterior cameras with wide field-of-view video. It also has sophisticated audio recording and data storage capabilities. The functional requirements for extreme weather and reliability of this system was off-the-charts, and stands out as one of Mixer’s most extreme product design challenges.

The Mixer Mechanical Engineering team engineered and managed the development of multiple integrated components that work together as a sophisticated 5-G communications platform. Our mechanical team was a critical member of the Axon development team, working seamlessly across disciplines. We managed DFM with Axon’s manufacturing partners and produced all the CAD and documentation required for volume production.
